Yoga and Stories in the Park

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 26, 2022) — The Davenport Public Library will be holding Yoga and Stories Fridays in June, Vander Veer Park, at 10AM.

This summer the library is bringing yoga and stories to Vander Veer Park! Bring your yoga mat or a towel and join us near the playground. Afterwards we'll have a fun craft and selected items available for check out from the OWL (Outreach Wheeled Library). Best for ages 4-10.

Iowa Attorney General Miller Sues Excavators Over "One Call" Violations

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 25, 2022) — Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller has filed “Iowa One Call” lawsuits in Marion and Appanoose counties alleging contractors conducted illegal excavations, including one that led to the deaths of two people.

The cases were resolved with consent decrees, with civil penalties totaling $13,000. The defendants admitted to the violations and agreed not to violate the One Call law in the future.
