Courtney Olsen Hired as Director of Equity and Learning Supports for Davenport Community School District

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 9, 2022) — Courtney Olsen has been hired as the Director of Equity and Learning Supports for the Davenport Community School District.

Olsen holds an Education Specialist degree in School Psychology and holds the Director of Special Education endorsement.

The event featured presentations from students, alumni, and nationally-recognized scientists; a research poster competition; and opportunities for students to network with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and symposium speakers.

QC Storm Head Coach Dave Pszenyczny Signed to Three-Year Contract

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (May 6, 2022) — The Quad City Storm and head coach Dave Pszenyczny has agreed to terms on a three-year contract, securing the team’s only head coach in franchise history through the 2024-2025 season. In his three seasons, Pszenyczny has amassed a regular season record of 66-68-22 and is coming off his first winning season as head coach.

Rhythm City Casino Blue’s Night in the Event Center

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 6, 2022) — We will be hosting the first Rhythm City Casino Blue’s Night on Friday, July 15, 2022, 6:30PM, in the Event Center. Tickets are $25 and $35, plus applicable online/phone ticketing fee (this fee is waived when tickets are purchased at The Market Gift Shop inside Rhythm City Casino Resort). All ages are welcome to attend. Tickets in the ADA section are for patrons with mobility disabilities and up to three companions.

Gov Kim Reynolds Announces Nearly $20M Investment in Downtown Housing Revitalization Projects

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 5, 2022) — Governor Kim Reynolds today announced a total of nearly $20 million in investments to support downtown housing projects in 61 communities, which will create 466 new homes for Iowans. Awards were made through the Downtown Housing Grant program, which provides support for downtown revitalization through new housing opportunities in communities with populations of 30,000 or below.

Twenty-Two Iowa Organizations to Receive Wellmark Foundation MATCH Grants

DES MOINES, Iowa (May 5, 2022) — The Wellmark Foundation has notified 22 Iowa organizations they will receive Matching Assets to Community Health (MATCH) grant funds, contingent upon securing the required dollar-for-dollar match. To ensure community support for these projects, organizations have until August 17 to secure their matching funds.
