DES MOINES, IOWA (December 2, 2020)  Governor Kim Reynolds and The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs today announced the launch of an Iowa Arts and Cultural Recovery Program. The statewide grant program will provide short-term relief to arts venues, cultural organizations, and creative workers who have lost significant business or income due to the pandemic.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (December 1, 2020) — The Sauk war leader known to the American settlers as Black Hawk fought and lost a war in 1832 as he tried to retake his homeland. His grave was robbed in 1839. The history books say his remains were destroyed in a museum fire in 1853 at Burlington, Iowa. The history books are wrong.
