DES MOINES, IOWA (April 6, 2020) — On April 4, Governor Kim Reynolds received word from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that more than $44 million has been obligated to the State of Iowa for reimbursement of expenses related to the COVID-19 response.

IOWA FALLS, IOWA (April 3, 2020) — The Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) recognizes Iowa trade associations who are encouraging businesses that may have excess personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies — face masks, gloves. and gowns — to donate or sell those supplies to Iowa's long-term care providers. IHCA works with nursing facilities, assisted-living communities, and home health agencies that care for the state's elderly and most vulnerable residents.

LENEXA, KANSAS (April 3, 2020) — The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is continuing its commitment to increasing the availability of surface disinfectants for use against SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19. 

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 3, 2020) — The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of 85 additional positive cases of Iowans with COVID-19, for a total of 699 positive cases. There have been a total of 8,764 negative tests to date, which includes testing reported by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 3, 2020) — On April 2, Governor Kim Reynolds signed a new proclamation continuing the State Public Health Emergency Declaration. The proclamation orders the closure of schools until April 30, waiving time requirements as long as school districts put in place a continuous learning-plan.
