CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (January 30, 2019) — Kirkwood Community College has released its Dean's List for the Fall 2019 semester. These students have achieved a 3.3 grade-point average or higher after completing 12 or more credit hours at the college.

WASHINGTON DC (January 30, 2020) — The Ensuring Quality Care for Our Veterans Act, authored by Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) and co-sponsored by Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), John Boozman (R-AR), and Chris Coons (D-DE) was voted unanimously out of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. 

SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS (January 30, 2020) — The unemployment rate decreased over-the-year in December in all fourteen Illinois metropolitan areas, according to preliminary data released today by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES). Data also shows the number of nonfarm jobs increased in ten Illinois metropolitan areas, decreased in three, and was unchanged in one.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 30, 2020) — A judge has ordered a Moravia lumber company to pay the state $25,718.50 after finding it had cut down dozens of trees in Stephens State Forest in Lucas County.

Moravia Hardwoods LLC is also banned from buying timber for one year after its owner lied to the state on a bond-renewal application, Fifth District Judge Martha L Mertz ruled this week.
