DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 3, 2020) — Tony Award and Grammy Award-winning actress and vocalist Renée Elise Goldsberry will join the Quad City Symphony Orchestra (QCSO) on Saturday, May 15, 2021, for an evening of Broadway, pop, and soul favorites. Goldsberry is best known for originating the role of Angelica Schuyler in the Broadway smash Hamilton.

 

DUBUQUE, IOWA (Februrary 3, 2020) — University of Dubuque senior Rebekah Godwin has earned a prestigious Brooke Owens Fellowship. The fellowship provides paid internships and executive mentorship for exceptional undergraduate women and gender-minority students in aerospace. This is the first year UD has been represented in the program.

GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN (February 3, 2020) — The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay has made public the names of undergraduate students receiving semester honors for the Fall 2019 semester. Students who earn a 4.0 grade-point average, which represents all "A" grades, receive highest honors. High honors go to students earning 3.99 to 3.75 grade-point averages. Honors are given to students earning 3.74 to 3.50 grade-point averages.

WASHINGTON DC (Februrary 3, 2020) — Repreentative Dave Loebsack announced today that he has invited Gary Anderson, the Sheriff of Appanoose County, to be his guest at the State of the Union address in Washington on Tuesday, February 4. Anderson has 36 years of law enforcement experience, including the past 20 years as Sheriff. Each member of Congress is allotted one ticket to invite a guest to the State of the Union speech.

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS — Anania Williams, a native of Davenport, Iowa, has been named to the Emerson College Dean's List for the Fall 2019 semester. Williams is majoring in Musical Theatre and is a member of the Class of 2022. The requirement to make Emerson's Dean's List is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.
