On November 27, US president Donald Trump signed The Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act. The bill, passed by veto-proof majorities in Congress amid large protests in the "special administrative region," allows the president to impose sanctions on officials who violate human rights there, and requires various US-government departments to annually review Hong Kong's political status with a view toward changing trade relations if the US doesn't like what it sees.

DES MOINES, IOWA (November 27, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds today announced her appointment of Laura Parrish as a district court judge in Judicial Election District 1A. 

Parrish, of Decorah, Iowa, currently practices law with Miller, Pearson, Gloe, Burns, Beatty, and Parrish in Decorah, Iowa. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell College and her law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law.

DES MOINES, IOWA (November 27, 2019) — The State Judicial Nominating Commission, which is responsible for selecting nominees for appointment to the Iowa Supreme Court, announced today it will begin accepting applications for the vacancy on the court that occurred when Chief Justice Mark Cady passed away on November 15, 2019.

A: At the start of the busy driving season, the Trump administration approved year-round sales of gasoline blended with 15-percent ethanol, ending the summer ban on the retail sales of E15. The ruling delivered welcome news for Iowa farmers and gave consumers a clean-burning, homegrown fuel choice when they pulled up to the pump this summer.
