CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (November 8, 2019) — Linn County and The City of Cedar Rapids became The 98th and 99th Home Base Iowa Communities. Home Base Iowa Program Manager Jason Kemp and Iowa Workforce Development Veteran Coordinator Jaime Norton announced that the commmunities have met qualifications to become centers of opportunity for veterans. Community members, business leaders, and veterans attended the ceremony and celebrated each community’s commitment to the veteran population.

DES MOINES, IOWA (November 7, 2019) — Iowa Department of Corrections and Iowa Workforce Development will host the Employer and Reentry Breakfast Roundtable at the North Central Correctional Facility in Rockwell City, Iowa, on December 12. Governor Kim Reynolds, who will be kicking-off the event, encourages employers, recruiters and human-resource managers to attend the Employer and Reentry Breakfast Roundtable and to learn about the opportunities available with hiring returning citizens.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (November 6, 2019) — The competition is underway for the Ascentra Credit Union Scholarship Program for the 2019-2020 school year. A total of $10,000 in scholarships will be awarded to ten Ascentra members to help offset the costs of attending a college or university or even trade school.
