Monmouth College Dean's List Fall 2023

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (January 16, 2024) — The following students made the Dean's List at Monmouth College for the Fall 2023 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, students had to take at least 3.0 credit hours while achieving a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Book by Monmouth College's Brad Nahrstadt ('89) First Biography of Overlooked, Underappreciated 1904 Democratic Presidential Nominee Alton Parker

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (January 15, 2024) — A member of the Monmouth College Board of Trustees has stepped up to fill a surprising void in the genre of American political biographies.

Brad Nahrstadt, a 1989 graduate of the College and a retired attorney, has written Alton B Parker: The Man Who Challenged Roosevelt. Published by the State University of New York Press, the 357-page book is available in hardback, with a paperback version due out later this year.

Carter Cline of Bettendorf, Iowa, Named to Dean's List at Miami University

Des Moines University Purple and Proud Campaign Tops $51 Million

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (January 11, 2024) — Purple and Proud: The Campaign for Des Moines University has twice surpassed its funding goals.

The campaign was publicly launched in December 2018 with an initial goal to raise $25 million. Following donors' generous support, DMU announced the extension and doubling of the campaign goal in December 2020 to further support the university's mission.

Rev Charles Burton, a Monmouth Grad, to Speak at College's MLK Day Celebration

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (January 11, 2024) — Monmouth College will host a celebration of the life and impact of the Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr on January 15.

The MLK Day event will feature inspirational music and a keynote address by the Rev Charles Burton, a 1992 Monmouth graduate. Free and open to the public, the event will be held at 11AM in Dahl Chapel and Auditorium.
