WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (June 3, 2026) — At Des Moines University (DMU) Medicine and Health Sciences' 126th Commencement, the longstanding institution celebrated a first by awarding 22 Doctor of Occupational Therapy degrees.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (June 3, 2026) — A rare summer art exhibition at Monmouth College features the work of Galesburg artist and photographer Rich Ankeney.

Titled "Improvisations in Light," the exhibition will be on display through July 31 in the Len G Everett Gallery, which is located on the upper level of Hewes Library. A reception for Ankeney will be held at 4:30PM, June 5 as part of Golden Scots Celebration activities on campus.

To honor their efforts, the State Historical Society of Iowa has awarded the following individuals and organizations an Excellence in Iowa History Award, which recognizes outstanding publications, local history initiatives, and major achievements in Iowa history.
