DUBUQUE, IOWA (May 4, 2026) — Five University of Dubuque students connected by an English major or minor shared their unique perspectives at the Sigma Tau Delta 2026 Convention during a roundtable session about the convention’s common reader, Salvage the Bones.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (May 4, 2026) — Des Moines University (DMU) Medicine and Health Sciences honored 48 individuals, including thirteen veterans, at this year's Body Donation Remembrance Ceremony. The annual service took place at 10:30AM, Saturday, May 2, in the Olsen Center at the DMU 32 Health and Business Complex in Des Moines.

DMU faculty, staff, students, and families gathered to remember those who generously donated their bodies to advance medical education.

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA (May 4, 2026) — Olivia Lynn Hansen of East Moline is among 102 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students who will be recognized as Chancellor's Scholars during the undergraduate commencement ceremonies May 9 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Hansen is an animal science (pre-veterinary medicine) major in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Parents are Ken and Shari Hansen.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (May 4, 2026) — The Quad Cities Community Foundation has announced the recipients of $856,327 in scholarship awards, the largest total dollars awarded in the organization’s sixty-plus-year history. The awards are made possible by the generosity of donors to scholarship funds at the Community Foundation.
