HUNTINGTON, WEST VIRGINIA (October 17, 2025) — Marshall University has announced that Neighborgall Construction Company has been awarded the winning bid for construction of the Marshall University Institute for Cyber Security (ICS), a $45 million facility that will focus on training the next generation of cyber-professionals.

Construction is set to begin immediately.

WAVERLY, IOWA (October 17, 2025) — Charlie Zimmerman has been accepted into the Wartburg College Teacher Education Program.

Zimmerman, of Bettendorf, Iowa, had to demonstrate effective reflective components in teaching and complete several other requirements to be considered for the program.

Admission to the Teacher Education Program allows students to begin professional-education courses in their field.

The chemistry professor was recently named to chair one of Monmouth College's six new academic schools, the School of Health and Natural Sciences. That, alone, would be the highlight of any given academic year for a professor.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (October 13, 2025) — October is a time for hayrack rides, pumpkin spice — and Homecoming weekend at Monmouth College.

The college will host its annual event that celebrates alumni October 17-18, featuring several award ceremonies, as well as a spirit shout, a parade, a football game, and pre- and post-football game gatherings. Reunions will be held throughout the weekend for the classes of 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020.

WHITEWATER, WISCONSIN (October 13, 2025) — Hannah Gault from Moline, Illinois, who is studying Elementary Middle Education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, has earned a roster spot on the Warhawk women's swimming and diving team for the 2025-26 season.

The Warhawks finished fifth at last year's Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships.

UW-Whitewater is coached by Elise Knoche, who enters her eighth season at the helm of the program.
