HUNTINGTON, WEST VIRGINIA (September 16, 2025) — Marshall University has announced a historic $50 million gift from President Brad D Smith and First Lady Alys Smith to advance Marshall for All, a groundbreaking program designed to eliminate student debt.

The milestone gift is the largest bestowed to the university, and is the largest personal contribution made by a sitting university president to their own institution.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (September 16, 2025) — On Friday, October 3, Bettendorf High School will honor three outstanding graduates as new members of the school’s Hall of Honor during a ceremony in the BHS Commons.

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (September 13, 2025) — Knox College will host its first Knight Fund Distinguished Artist-in-Residence, Michael Takeo Magruder, from September 16 to September 30, 2025. Magruder is an internationally-known artist who has held over 300 exhibitions in 35 countries, including a recent exhibition at the British Library in London.
