DES MOINES, IOWA (December 4, 2019) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate announced today that four Iowa schools have qualified for the Carrie Chapman Catt Award by registering at least 90 percent of their eligible students to vote. The award is part of a new initiative Sec Pate launched in September.

PELLA, IOWA (December 2, 2019) — Clayton Hunn of Muscatine, Iowa, is one of eight Central College students who will perform December 4 in "An Evening of Flute and Percussion" in Douwstra Auditorium. Munn will then be one of 32 Central College students who will perform with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble during its holiday performance of Alfred Reed's "Russian Christmas Music" at Sunday, December 8, 3PM, on the Hoekstra Family Stage in Douwstra Auditorium.

IOWA FALLS, IOWA (November 25, 2019) — Keep Iowa Beautiful (KIB) will award three $1,000 scholarships to Iowa high school seniors in 2020 who plan to enroll in an Iowa college or university.

The awards are given each year to board members, board teams, and superintendents who dedicate time and effort to learning, advocacy, leadership, and service-projects to expand their knowledge and skills for better governance.
