DES MOINES, IOWA (June 9, 2023) — The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs (IDCA) has announced that seventeen projects and individuals in ten Iowa communities received the state's highest historic preservation honors at the 2023 Preserve Iowa Summit.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (June 6, 2023) — The Quad Cities Chamber is partnering with Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) and Iowa Economic Development Authority to complete a Laborshed employment study for the Quad Cities area. This study will geographically define which communities contribute to the Quad Cities’ workforce, regardless of political boundaries. This defined area is called a Laborshed area and is based upon commuting patterns.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 6, 2023) — To better serve the citizens of Davenport, Davenport Public Library is extending their open hours at Eastern and Fairmount temporarily.

Beginning Tuesday, June 6, 2023, Eastern and Fairmount will be open Monday-Thursday, 9AM-8PM, to provide Library services while their Main branch is closed.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 9, 2023) — Rock Island Downtown Alliance (RIDA) Executive Director Jack Cullen was one of thirty selected by the International Downtown Association (IDA) for the 2023 Emerging Leader Fellowship (ELF) program. These senior staff members hail from 25 cities from around North America including Washington DC; San Diego, California; Moncton, New Brunswick; Rock Island, Illinois; Cleveland, Ohio; Houston, Texas; Denver, Colorado; and Winnipeg, Manitoba.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 4, 2023) — Urban planning students from Augustana College will host a community meeting as part of a semester-long community engagement project to develop a master plan for Rock Island’s Longview Park.

ELDRIDGE, IOWA (April 24, 2023) — On Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 0900 hours, the Scott County Sheriff's Office will hold a Swearing-in Ceremony at the Sheriff's Office Headquarters at 3206 South 16th Avenue in Eldridge. Hunter Murray has been hired as the newest deputy sheriff for Scott County.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 6, 2023) — State Auditor Rob Sand today urged leaders in Iowa’s rural communities to apply for funding from the Energy Improvements in Rural or Remote Areas (ERA) program. The program is designed to provide financial investment, technical assistance, and other resources to advance clean energy in communities with fewer than 10,000 people.
