The public is invited to enjoy a free readers' theater performance about Sylvan Island on Sunday afternoon, May 6, 2018, at 2:00pm. The presentation – under the joint sponsorship of River Action and Moline Parks will visit some of the major areas in the park where the present and the past meld into each other under the glow of romance. During the play, nine performers/readers will lead the audience on a walk along the park's main path.

The Quad City's first World Migratory Bird Day celebration and educational day is being held at the Quad City Botanical Center on June 2nd from 10am until 3pm. The day is a collaboration between the Quad City Botanical Center, US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Guardians of the Prairie and Forest. The event is free to attend. There will be featured speakers, educational booths, family activities such as crafts and games, and live bird demonstrations.

The Environmental Forum of PACG Quad Cities is hosting an event to celebrate Earth Day on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Quad City  Botanical Center, 2525 4 th Avenue, Rock Island, IL. Mr. Ray Wolf will present recent NOAA climate data, and explain projected outcomes, with an emphasis on how climate change will impact the Mid-West.

Speakers include scientists in zoology, conservation, veterinarian medicine, ecology and animal behavior.

The series of presentations covers topics on conservation, ecology, biology and zoology. The public is invited to come and be a part of Friends of Hauberg's mission to restore the historic 1911 Jens Jensen landscape design back to its former glory! They will be planting new trees, shrubs and flowers and removing debri from the forest and flower beds. There will be projects for all ages & skill levels. You can come for just a few hours or stay all day. Free to the public and family-friendly. Leashed pets welcome outside.

AMANA, Iowa –The Amana Colonies is a prime spot for bird watching, in part due to the 26,000 acres of Amana Society-owned woods and pastureland surrounding the area, as well as the refuge provided by the 170-acre Lily Lake.

Certain species of hawks, orioles and grosbeaks are just a few of the birds that live in the area year-round. Over the years, veteran Amana birder Lanny Haldy has seen 261 different bird species in the Amana Colonies.
