WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (January 27, 2020) — Hy-Vee Inc announced today that it has agreed to acquire six former Shopko locations in Iowa that will re-open under the Dollar Fresh brand by late summer.

In the upcoming weeks, several former Shopko locations will begin renovations to open as Dollar Fresh stores by late summer. The former Shopko buildings in Hampton, Cresco, Oelwein, Waukon, Dyersville and Vinton are all part of the purchase agreements.

On January 20, comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan mentioned that he'll "probably vote for Bernie" Sanders in the Democratic Party's presidential primary. Rogan cited Sanders's decades of "consistency" as a "very powerful structure to operate from." More interesting than Rogan's quasi-endorsement was the Human Rights Campaign's negative response. CLIVE, Iowa — A Bettendorf man has won a $50,000 lottery prize.

Donald Sullivan won the second top prize in the Iowa Lottery’s “5 Spot” scratch game. He purchased his winning ticket at Kwik Star, 2283 53rd Ave, in Bettendorf, and claimed his prize on Tuesday at the lottery’s regional office in Cedar Rapids.

IOWA FALLS, IOWA (January 20, 2020) — Keep Iowa Beautiful (KIB) announced the winners of the 10th Keep Iowa Beautiful Photography Contest aimed at raising awareness of Iowa's natural and environmental beauty. KIB wants to learn what resonates with Iowans based on the photographs they share through this annual photography contest.
