DES MOINES, IOWA (July 29, 2019) — Today, Governor Kim Reynolds announced 27 collaborative, public-private partnership events will be taking place to help Iowa build a skilled workforce for the future.

WASHINGTON DC (July 29, 2019) — Senate Finance Committee Chairman Charles "Chuck" Grassley today released the following statement regarding the Governmental Accountability Office’s (GAO) report on disproportionate share hospital (DSH) payments and states’ use and distribution of these payments to hospitals through Medicaid.

Medicaid provides roughly 65 million Americans with health-care coverage paid for by tax-payers. This federal-state health-insurance program provides a safety net for low-income adults, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. I worry that it could unravel because of unsustainable spending for unchecked drug-pricing.

The Future Ready Iowa Last-Dollar Scholarship is available to new high-school graduates and adult learners who enroll in a scholarship-eligible program. The $13 million scholarship program covers tuition for credentials up to a two-year degree in programs leading to a high-demand job.
