DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 19, 2019) — On Tuesday, Auston McLain will launch his bid for the Davenport City Council’s Fifth Ward.

McLain, 34, is the Outreach Advocate at Braking Traffik, a program of Family Resources, which works with survivors of human trafficking.

"Working in the anti-human trafficking movement and sexual assault field, I encounter some of the most challenging parts of our community, as well as some of the best," McLain said.

Deputy Schreurs, a 24-year veteran with the department, died from injuries sustained in the line of duty on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.
