AMES, IOWA (August 26, 2019) — On August 28, NextGen Iowa will register new and returning UNI students to vote as they arrive to campus for the fall semester. From GOP inaction on gun violence and climate change to the racist and violent rhetoric coming out of the White House, young voters are poised to play an outsize role in the outcome of November 2020. NextGen Iowa is hard at work engaging young people across the state about what is at stake in 2020.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (July 4, 2019) — On July 6, 12-4PM, NextGen Iowa will support LGBTQIA+ Iowans, register young voters, and recruit volunteers at Cedar Rapids PrideFest at Newbo City Market (1100 3rd St SE).

IOWA CITY, IOWA (June 27, 2019) — On June 29, 12PM - 4PM CST, NextGen Iowa will set up at 2nd and Warren Streets in Davenport to support LGBTQIA+ Iowans, register young voters, and to recruit volunteers at Quad Cities Pride.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (June 24, 2019) — On Tuesday, June 25, NextGen Iowa will host two letter-writing parties in Iowa City and Des Moines where young Iowans will write letters urging Senator Joni Ernst to support the Equality Act.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (June 13, 2019) — On June 15, NextGen Iowa will support LGBTQIA+ Iowans, register young voters, and recruit volunteers at Iowa City Pride Fest and Parade. In the past two weeks, NextGen Iowa has attended both Sioux City and Des Moines Pride, where organizers collected over 1,100 petitions urging Senator Joni Ernst, who is up for re-election in 2020, to support the historic Equality Act, and committed over 800 people to vote in upcoming elections.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 6, 2019) — On June 8 and 9, NextGen Iowa will be supporting LGBTQIA+ Iowans, registering young voters and recruiting volunteers at Des Moines Pride. NextGen Iowa will be joining thousands of young Iowans to take pride in our power to stand up to bigotry and safeguard our communities.
