DES MOINES, IOWA (January 12, 2023) — Governor Kim Reynolds has announced a total of $4 million in grant awards to assist the communities of Burlington, Grinnell, Keokuk, Mason City, and Washington in the rehabilitation of a total of 131 owner-occupied and rental homes through the Home Rehabilitation Block Grant Pilot Program.

Norman, of Garner, Iowa, currently serves as the Hancock County Attorney. Norman received his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa and his law degree from the Drake University Law School with high honors.

Madam President, Mr Speaker, Lt Governor, legislative leaders and members, justices and judges, my fellow Iowans:

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 6, 2023) — Brenna Bird was formally sworn-in as Iowa Attorney General on January 5 at the Iowa State Capitol. Bird was elected on November 8, 2022 — the first Republican to hold the office since 1979 — and took office on January 3, 2023.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 6, 2023) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate is proposing a bill to the Iowa Legislature that streamlines the recount process for elections. The bill standardizes the recount timeline in all 99 counties, provides additional flexibility for the makeup of recount boards, and requires uniform methods for how ballots are recounted, reconciled, and reported.

DES MOINES, IOWA (December 29, 2022) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate honored longtime Jasper County Auditor Dennis Parrott with the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) Medallion Award this week. Parrott is retiring on December 31. He has served as Jasper County Auditor since 2005.

Sec Pate surprised Parrott with the award during the auditor’s retirement ceremony in Newton on Tuesday.
