LENEXA, KANSAS (April 17, 2020) — The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7 announced that it has transferred almost 8,000 pieces of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). CEDAR FALLS, IOWA (February 10, 2020) — Applications are now being accepted from Iowa high school seniors in the class of 2020 to represent Iowa at the 2020 National Youth Science Camp (NYSCamp) in Davis, West Virginia. Two students from each state, Washington DC and 8 countries will attend the all-expenses-paid program which is held from June 22 through July 15, 2020. The Iowa Academy of Science works with the Iowa Governor's Office to advertise and select Iowa's delegates.

WASHINGTON DC (November 7, 2019) — The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Andrew Wheeler announced that EPA’s Office of Environmental Education is now accepting applications for the 2020 Presidential Environmental Youth Awards (PEYA) and Presidential Innovation Awards for Environmental Educators (PIAEE). Winners will be invited to Washington DC in mid-2020 to be honored by the agency and present their work in a poster session.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (September 30, 2019) — The Quad City International Airport will have approximately 50% of its current energy-demand paid for with a new rooftop and car-port mounted photovoltaic solar-system. The solar panels will be supported by new canopies covering more than 200 short-term parking-spaces and newly-constructed walkway sidewalks, as well as solar panels on the terminal rooftop.
