DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 30, 2021) — For the first time in 2021, the Quad Cities River Bandits found themselves on the losing end of a shut-out, as they dropped game one of their six-game series with the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 1-0.

Both Noah Murdock, Quad Cities’ starter, and Tyler Watson, Kernels’ starter, posted zeros in the first three frames, with Murdock stranding a walk and Watson working around John Rave’s single in the second.

The Bandits wasted no time jumping on starting Bryan Hoeing early on and got their first home-run of the night thanks to Vinnie Pasquantino, whose solo blast made it 1-0 in the first.
