The Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering its four-week river fun course, Boating Skills & Seamanship, starting Thursday, April 26, at the Coast Guard Auxiliary Station in Sunset Marina in Rock Island.
RAGBRAI® sponsors a kid’s art contest for students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Davenport is the ending town for this year’s ride across Iowa for 20,000 cyclists arriving on July 28. Our community’s winner will go on to be entered in the statewide contest with the grand prize winner receiving $350.

Davenport, Iowa (April 19, 2018) – It’s 100 days until RAGBRAI reaches Davenport! RAGBRAI is the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa. 2018 is the 46th annual non-competitive bicycle ride across the state on July 22-28 for thousands of cyclists and their support crews from around the world. The route on the last day will take riders from Iowa City to Davenport.
Davenport, IA — The Quad Cities River Bandits jumped ahead in the early going and rode the pitching of Patrick Sandoval and two relievers to a 5-2 victory over the Kane County Cougars on Thursday night at Modern Woodmen Park. With the win, the River Bandits earned a split of the four-game series.
Troy Evans, Davenport Parks and Recreation, sent out a note a short time ago indicating that golfers can get out today on Davenport’s golf courses. The golf courses, Emeis, Duck Creek and Red Hawk Golf and Learning Center opened today, Wednesday, April 11.

Davenport, IA — The Quad Cities River Bandits offensive explosion from Monday night did not carry over into Tuesday as the Kane County Cougars evened the series at one game apiece with a 3-1 win at Modern Woodmen Park. Four Kane County pitchers combined to limit the River Bandits to one unearned run on just two hits.
Cedar Rapids, IA — The Cedar Rapids Kernels used a sacrifice fly with runners on the corners and nobody out in the bottom of the 10th inning to knock off the Quad Cities River Bandits on Saturday night in Cedar Rapids. The game was the first for the River Bandits with the new extra inning rules implemented by Minor League Baseball this season.
