CORALVILLE, IOWA (October 3, 2023) — The Iowa Bicycle Coalition is proud to announce the hiring of their new Executive Director, Luke Hoffman. Hoffman is coming to the Iowa Bicycle Coalition from Iowa Rivers Revival where he also worked as their Executive Director. Hiring Luke is part of a broader strategy for the Iowa Bicycle Coalition to refocus and revitalize their vision of ensuring safe and accessible bicycling for all Iowans.

COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (August 31, 2023) — Shout out for volunteers! On Friday, September 22, Niabi Zoo (13010 Niabi Zoo Rd, Coal Valley) will host its biggest fundraiser of the year, Pints for Preservation! This event kicks off the campaign to bring Bears to the Zoo! In order to transform the Zoo into the social venue of the season for adults, we will need many volunteers to help set up and operate drink stations throughout the night.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA (August 15, 2023) — A grant awarded by AAA — The Auto Club Group Foundation will allow SAFE (Seatbelts Are for Everyone) Iowa the opportunity to continue their work with young drivers (ages fourteen to seventeen) across the state of Iowa. The $10,000 grant has already made impact in the growth of the program over the past year. Growing the number of participating schools from four in 2021 — nineteen in 2023.

COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (July 17, 2023) — The Niabi Zoo is excited to welcome its newest inhabitants to the Quad Cities: Three African Painted Dogs Lycaon pictus. This incredible species is a native of the grasslands of East Africa, and has never been housed at the Niabi Zoo before. African Painted Dogs are highly intelligent and social keystone species in Africa. Like North American Wolves, play a critical role in the health of their ecosystem.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (July 14, 2023) — American Airlines will offer twice-daily service from Quad Cities International Airport to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). Booking will be available starting July 15, and the inaugural flight will be December 21, 2023. Service will be provided on a CRJ-900, 76-seat, dual-class cabin jet.

LECLAIRE, IOWA (June 26, 2023) — Aunt Hattie’s Fanciful Emporium will officially introduce a new mural with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, 5:15PM. The LeClaire Chamber of Commerce ceremony will take place in front of the mural, which is located on the south side of the building at 110 South Cody Road.
