COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (October 28, 2022) — Niabi Zoo is proud to announce that an encore of our 4th Annual Animal Art Show and sale will return this weekend during Boo at the Zoo! Original art by a whole host of animals will be available for purchase, on zoo grounds, 10AM-3PM on both Saturday and Sunday. Hours will be adjusted in the event of rain. Entry is included with the price of admission (free to members).

COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (October 4, 2022) — The Niabi zoo is excited to announce the arrival of our two newest inhabitants! Beni and Togo, two African Red River Hogs. Beni and Togo are brothers and where born in a zoo here in the US. They are both just over two years old and are growing fast. Red River hogs are found in the rainforest and wet savannahs of west and central Africa. Full grown red river hogs can weigh as much as 250 lbs.

GENESEO, ILLINOIS (August 26, 2022) — The Geneseo Chamber of Commerce announces its popular Cruise the Canal golf cart tours of the Hennepin Canal for 2022. The Cruise the Canal tours allow tourists in our area to enjoy one of Illinois’ State Parks and a second chance to experience the tours surrounded by fall foliage.

LeCLAIRE, IOWA (August 25, 2022) — LeClaire, Iowa, will host Patriot Hunts Riverfest, a special event to benefit Patriot Hunts, on Saturday, September 10, 2022.

Wendy Bloomingdale and Annette Black, co-chairs of the Patriot Hunts Riverfest, have organized a family-friendly day with free admission starting with the Kids’ Fishing Derby, 8-10AM, at the south end of the Levee. Registration starts at 7:45AM.

Help the zoo raise money to bring new and exciting exhibits to the Zoo by heading off the local “Paws” at the pass! Fun and educational for the whole family. All proceeds will be used to help support improvements at Niabi.

COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (August 10, 2022) — The Niabi Zoo is pleased and excited to announce being named a recipient of the prestigious Illinois State Tourism grant. The grant will fund our new Painted Dog exhibit, an important component in our Niabi Zoo Masterplan. The total grant award is 233,000 dollars, and will cover almost half of the cost of the exhibit.

PRINCETON, IOWA (September 8, 2021) — Princeton Recreation Trails is hosting their 8th annual 5K Walk and Run, “I’m running to raise money for the Mississippi River Trail and to eat ice cream,” says Tara Flesch, Race Director. “We are partnering with Community Visioning volunteers to encourage residents and visitors to provide input on concept designs and Scouts will be downtown selling ice cream and popcorn!”
