The Blue Ribbon Foundation, a non-profit organization, continues this tradition by offering a variety of souvenirs as part of our fundraising efforts. The Blue Ribbon Foundation is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the historic Iowa State Fairgrounds.

DIXON, IOWA (August 20, 2024) — On Saturday, September 14, 2024, 9-11AM, there will be a Monarch Migration Fun Run held at the Wapsi River Environmental Education Center in Dixon, Iowa.

The Fourth Annual Monarch Migration Fun Run will benefit the Friends of the Wapsi Center.

This self-timed 5K Trail Run will take you through the upland and bottomland forests and the prairies of the Wapsi River Center.

COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (August 23, 2024) — We are celebrating Painted Dog Day on Saturday, August 24, at the Zoo, 10AM-4PM. Conservation Educators will be hosting activity tables at the 2 Painted Dog habitat overlook decks for you and your family to have fun while learning about this endangered species.

COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (August 9, 2024) — On Friday, September 13, the Zoo will host our biggest fundraiser of the year, Pints for Preservation. This year, the proceeds will go toward finishing the cat habitats that were destroyed during the CAT-astrophe from the storms earlier in 2024. The large cat exhibits will be completed in late 2024 and the Pallas' Cat (featured in the image above) will be constructed in 2025.

COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (May 31, 2024) — The Niabi Zoo is excited to announce its membership in the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Wildlife Confiscation Network. The network was set up to assist the USFWS, state, and local law-enforcement agencies in providing care and homes for smuggled and confiscated wildlife brought illegally into the United States.
