DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 27, 2022) — A brilliant, bold-as-can-be, and, to our knowledge, precedent-setting program of original choreography by Courtney Lyon and Emily Kate Long celebrating and dramatizing works by Jewish composers who fled the Nazis or tragically died in the camps.

The significance — and, unfortunately, relevance — of this program is deep. Our Will to Live is a step toward a reset, resurrecting the music and vivifying it via dance. 

MOUNT CARROLL, ILLINOIS (September 23, 2022) — Timber Lake Playhouse (TLP), the premier professional summer theatre of northwest Illinois, will continue their Fall Season with Defending the Caveman on September 29 at the Playhouse.  Defending the Caveman was written by Rob Becker over a three-year period during which he made an informal study of psychology, sociology, and prehistory.

MOUNT CARROLL, ILLINOIS (September 19, 2022) — Timber Lake Playhouse, the premier professional summer theatre of northwest Illinois, will host a Fall Festival featuring BrewFest on Saturday, September 24, 12-6PM. The fest will include tastings of craft beers and wines, food, hay rides, and activities for the whole family. BrewFest features the popular craft beers of Lena Brewery and other local breweries.

MUSCATINE, IOWA (August 31, 2022) — A special one-night-only performance will feature a cast of local talent performing alongside Gary Sandy of WKRP in Cincinnati fame! Written by Max Allan Collins, Encore for Murder follows private eye Mike Hammer, a character originally created by Mickey Spillane and further developed by Collins.

MOUNT CARROLL, ILLINOIS (August 29, 2022) — Timber Lake Playhouse (TLP), the premier professional theatre of northwest Illinois, will welcome Ted Lange to direct their fall opener, Hank Williams: Lost Highway. “When one of our actors suggested Ted to direct the show, I immediately reached out to him,” said Dan Danielowski, TLP Executive Director. “We talked a few times, Ted’s schedule allowed him to do the show, and the rest — as they say — is history.”

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (August 24, 2022) — The Black Box Theatre is producing My Brother's Gift, adapted by Claudia Haas, based on the memories of Eva Geiringer Schoss and the paintings and poetry of Heinz Geiringer, as a part of the Out of Darkness: Holocaust Messages for Today (outofdarknessqc.com).

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (August 2, 2022) — “Ride the Cyclone” is here. The area premiere of the quirky musical takes a bow on August 11 at the downtown Moline theatre. “In this hilarious and outlandish story, the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller-coaster. When they awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune-teller invites each to tell a story to win a prize like no other — the chance to return to life.”
