ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 8, 2019) — The Rock Island Arsenal Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (RIA AUSA) will host a signing event for new sculpture, the Freedom Medallion, released for the first time Memorial Day weekend. On Saturday, May 25th, at the Isabel Bloom Moline Studio, 1505 River Drive, 10AM–1PM, artist Donna Young will be on hand to sign sculptures purchased with all proceeds to benefit the local military community through Chapter support.

LATHAM, NEW YORK (February 14, 2019) — Major General Ray Shields, the Adjutant General for the State of New York, announces the recent promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their capability for additional responsibility and leadership.

Miranda Banks from Cheektowaga, Illinois and assigned to the 42nd Infantry Division Band received a promotion to the rank of Sergeant.

– In honor of Veterans Day, Bereskin Gallery & Art Academy offers a slideshow tour of four European countries and locations familiar to World War II veterans. Landscape photographer Barry Sharp returns to the Quad Cities for a special presentation that contrasts historical and contemporary photos. The presentation is Friday, November 9 at 4:30 p.m. with a reception following at 5:30 p.m. at Bereskin Gallery, 2967 State Street, Bettendorf. The event is free.
