Tragically, every day in America, 20 veterans take their own lives. Many of our nation’s veterans face post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other serious mental health issues upon their return home, and these veterans have sacrificed too much to ever feel alone when in a crisis. When these veterans reach out, we as a country owe it to them to answer their call.

SPRINGFIELD, IL (01/03/2017)(readMedia)-- Approximately 30 Illinois Army National Guard Soldiers who served in Afghanistan returned to Illinois over the past few weeks. The Soldiers of the 233rd Military Police Company based in Springfield, Illinois, were reunited with their loved ones after they completed post-mobilization activities at Fort Bliss, Texas.

The 233rd Soldiers were mobilized in January 2016 and deployed to Afghanistan as part of a personal security detail.
