Des Moines, June 28, 2017— Today, the Iowa Supreme Court approved the Fiscal Year 2018 Iowa Judicial Branch budget that begins July 1, 2017. The budget continues the statewide hiring freeze from the last fiscal year that resulted in more than 150 vacant positions. The judicial branch will continue to keep vacant positions open and only fill the most critical positions in FY 18.

WASHINGTON – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley is asking the Justice Department to address more revelations of potential conflicts in the FBI’s handling of recent politically charged investigations.  Grassley’s request follows new reports that the acting director engaged in a political campaign and is the subject of an ongoing sex discrimination complaint supported by former Lt.
