Des Moines, August 21, 2017—The Iowa Supreme Court today announced its 2017-2018 adjudicative term calendar, including a special evening session in Des Moines, special sessions at Drake and Iowa law schools, and three special sessions in communities around the state to hear oral arguments. The court's adjudicative term is from September 1, 2017, to June 30, 2018.

DAVENPORT, IA – On August 17, 2017, John Allen Abbott, 50, of Clinton, Iowa, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Stephanie M. Rose to 240 months in prison for conspiracy to manufacture, distribute, and possess with intent to distribute 50 grams and more of actual methamphetamine and 500 grams and more of mixtures containing methamphetamine, announced United States Attorney Kevin E. Attorneys general request simple change to Communications Decency Act

CHICAGO (Aug. 9, 2017) – Continuing his push for criminal justice reform, Gov. Bruce Rauner today signed Senate Bill 1413, which allows men and women to receive their birth certificate for no fee upon their release from the Department of Corrections.
