Attorneys general: Bump stocks can mimic fully automatic fire, lead to “disastrous consequences in the wrong hands”
DES MOINES – Expressing extreme concern about the role “bump stocks” played in the recent Las Vegas tragedy, Attorney General Tom Miller today joined a bipartisan group of attorneys general in urging Congressional leaders to close a loophole in current federal gun laws.
WASHINGTON – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley today made the following statement regarding federal criminal charges filed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller:
The Scott County Board of Supervisors will be conducting a ribbon cutting ceremony to recognize the completion of the Scott County Juvenile Diversion Programs space. The ceremony will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday October 31, 2017 at 500 W 4th Street, the east side of the building.
Following the ribbon cutting Juvenile Detention and Diversion Program Staff will lead a tour of the new space.
DAVENPORT, Iowa – On October 23, 2017, United States District Court Judge Stephanie M. Rose sentenced Darrell Rasean Ratliff, age 28, of Davenport, Iowa, to 120 months in prison for felon in possession of a firearm, announced United States Attorney Marc Krickbaum. Ratliff was also ordered to serve three years of supervised release following imprisonment and to pay $100 to the Crime Victims’ Fund.
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst today forwarded to the President recommendations of four highly qualified Iowa lawyers to fill a federal district court vacancy in the Northern District of Iowa in Cedar Rapids.
DAVENPORT, Iowa - On September 21, 2017, Chief United States District Court Judge John A. Jarvey sentenced Michael Scott Parker, 32, formerly of Davenport, Iowa, to 80 months in prison after pleading guilty to felon in possession of a firearm, announced United States Attorney Kevin E. VanderSchel. Parker was also ordered to serve three years of supervised release and pay $100 to the Crime Victims’ Fund.
