PELLA, IOWA (December 2, 2019) — Clayton Hunn of Muscatine, Iowa, is one of eight Central College students who will perform December 4 in "An Evening of Flute and Percussion" in Douwstra Auditorium. Munn will then be one of 32 Central College students who will perform with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble during its holiday performance of Alfred Reed's "Russian Christmas Music" at Sunday, December 8, 3PM, on the Hoekstra Family Stage in Douwstra Auditorium.

PELLA, IOWA (November 20, 2019) — Twenty-nine students are members of the Flying Pans Steel Band at Central College. The group performed its "Steel Graffiti" show November 1-3 in Douwstra Auditorium and will perform its "Caribbean Christmas" show at 7:30PM, Saturday, December 7, in the Vermeer Banquet Room of Graham Conference Center.

PELLA, IOWA (November 18, 2019) — Central College's music department will give the gift of entertainment, offering a variety of concerts centered around the upcoming holiday season.

For the 45th year, the Christmas Candlelight Concerts will highlight the month of performances. The annual event kicks off with a concert Thursday, December 12, in Des Moines, with concerts back on campus in Pella on Friday, December 13, and Saturday, December 14,

PELLA, IOWA (11/14/2019) — Andrew Green, professor of political science at Central College, will present "From the Iowa Caucuses to the White House: Understanding Donald Trump's 2016 Electoral Victory in Iowa" at 7PM, Monday, November 18, in the Boat/Moore rooms of Maytag Student Center.

The presentation is the second of five in the college's 2019-20 Faculty Lecture Series with a focus on civic engagement. It is free and open to the public.

PELLA, IOWA (November 13, 2019) — A data-analyst and coordinator with the NFL's Minnesota Vikings will be one of three keynote speakers Central College will bring campus for the fourth annual Midwest Sports Analytics Meeting set for Saturday, November 23, in the Maytag Student Center.

It is a project of Central College professors Joshua Dolezal, professor of English, and Brian Campbell, director of sustainability education.
