Franklin served as the State of Iowa’s Chief Information Security Officer for the past 10 years. His expertise will help protect Iowa’s elections in 2020 and beyond.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 24, 2020) — The filing process for Iowa businesses is better than ever thanks to the Fast Track Filing system launched by the Secretary of State’s Office. Iowa Secretary Paul Pate announced today that biennial report-filing is now available using the system. Businesses that are registered with the state are required to file reports every two years. Approximately 70,000 Iowa businesses will file biennial reports in 2020.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 15, 2020) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate’s partnership with VoteShield sets a model for other states to monitor and protect their voter data. VoteShield is a secure web application that tracks changes to Iowa’s voter rolls and detects and flags anomalies. Iowa was the first state in the country to utilize the system.

DES MOINES, IOWA (December 30, 2019) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate announces 350,000 Iowans have registered to vote in the past five years. Iowa has broken several voter-registration records since Sec Pate took office on January 1, 2015, including setting the all-time high for active registered voters, 2,045,864, in January 2017.
