Rock Island, IL: The Rock Island Public Library's Downtown location, 401 19th Street, will be closed Saturday, Sept. 2 due to the Rock Island Grand Prix cart races. The 30/31 Library, 3059 30th Street, and Southwest Library, 9010 Ridgewood Road, will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday.

Rock Island, IL: The Rock Island Public Library's Hug A Book program series will offer a special early learning art event  this Thursday for ages five and under.

Rock Island Libraries distributed nearly 900 pairs of glasses to our customers in late July and early August. ALL of those glasses are now gone.

The situation is the same at all other local libraries who had free glasses to distribute.

Starting in August, the library will start monthly board game nights for families on the first Tuesday of each month and retro gaming for adults on the second Thursday, both at the Downtown Library.
