Find all things STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) at the RiverCenter Saturday during QC Co-Lab's QC MakeFest. Free and open to the public, this event showcases invention, learning, and making. Exhibitions ranging from 3D printers to robots to quadcopter races and more await you during this incredibly unique event!
Bucktown Center for the Arts welcomes guest animator Ron Campbell to the studio on Friday and Saturday. This Emmy Award winning animator is known for his work in the Beatles film Yellow Submarine, as well as other productions such as The Rugrats, Flintstones, Winnie the Pooh & more. Stop by to purchase your authentic piece of artwork. While you're there, check out some of the other amazing studios located in this historic building.
 Admission isn't the only FREE thing over at the Figge Art Museum this summer. LiveUncommon hosts an array of FREE events right on the Plaza for anyone and everyone! Saturday is booming with activities like Yoga, Zumba, a School Yard Workout, a Scavenger Hunt, and live music, rain or shine. Don't forget about the FREE Swing Dancing lessons tonight!
 The Japenese art of Anime comes to the RiverCenter this weekend during Anime-zing! This 3-day convention includes a variety of screenings, discussions, autograph signings, and meetings revolving around all things anime. For those running in the Quad City Times Bix 7, pick up your race packets and peruse a variety of health and fitness vendors at the Running Wild Sports and Fitness Expo next Thursday and Friday.
 Start your weekend off right at the River Music Experience Courtyard with Friday Live @ 5 feat. Minus Six or see Orion Walsh and Jordan-Morgan Lansdown on Saturday. The iconic Redstone Room is booked with a wide variety of music including Rock Camp USA on Saturday, Walter Trout on Tuesday, and Lewis Knudsen on Thursday. With events happening almost everyday this week, you're bound to find something you'll love!
 The Quad Cities River Bandits are home this week as they face the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Check out their unbeatable promotions, such as Military Mondays and Firework Fridays, all throughout the week. Bring the whole family along to ride the Ferris Wheel, munch on all the classic baseball staples, and enjoy a game along the beautiful Mississippi River.
 We are just ONE WEEK away from The Quad City Times Bix 7! Watch all types of runners, from your next-door neighbor to world elite's, battle up Brady Street during this legendary road race. Stop by at Street Fest presented by Great Southern Bank after to keep the party going! Also, Davenport will be the ending location of RAGBRAI this year, too! This Week in Downtown Davenport: 7/10 - 7/16/2015

Spend more time outside with the Live Uncommon Series on the Figge Plaza! LU is inviting Bix @ 6 runners to start and finish their training run tonight at the Figge. Runners who land on the Bechtel Plaza between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. get a FREE tee, drink ticket, and entry to the Live Uncommon Summer Series Finale event on September 5th. Also at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday is FREE swing dancing lessons on the plaza- partner and experience not required!
Live Uncommon also plays host to a Saturday full of FREE and awesome activities for the whole family this weekend. The fun starts at 10 a.m. with FREE yoga on the Figge Plaza followed by a free cirque de soleil-type performance and interactive circus workshop by Fire in the Sky QC. Come on back at 3 p.m. for a free hip hop performance and interactive workshop with Rushour Dance. Bring a chair, the kids, a date, a camera, and whatever else you may need for this wicked good time!

This Week in Downtown Davenport Fourth of July Edition: 7/3 - 7/9/2015

Come celebrate the 4th of July in the Quad Cities on the riverfront! You can watch the fireworks on both sides of the river, including viewing areas at Modern Woodmen Park and LeClaire Park in Davenport, as well as Schweibert Riverfront Park in Rock Island. Fireworks will be launched off of TWO barges, making this years' event the biggest yet!
We'll have food, drinks, live music, and plenty of fun activities, so make sure to bring the entire family. A huge thank you to our presenting sponsors Genesis Health System and Riverboat Development Authority for making this show possible.
The Figge is turning 10 years old this year! Be sure to head downtown to celebrate their milestone in a variety of ways. The 10th Anniversary Exhibition opens this Sunday with a FREE reception and talk from the curator himself on Thursday. To get more of the Figge, sign up for their recurring workshops, or get active at the Figge Plaza through Live Uncommon. Either way, there's always a reason to visit!

Before the celebration, enjoy a FREE show on the RME Courtyard for this Friday's Live at 5 featuring The Dawn. On Thursday, prepare yourself for the return of internationally-acclaimed, foot-stomping, genre-breaking crew, MarchFourth Marching Band!

Speaking of anniversaries, Oh So Sweet by Tiphanie celebrates their first birthday this week! Throughout the week, the bakery will host various giveaways and raffles to show thanks to all of their amazing customers. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and stop in the store to participate. Discover and explore tons of new things during Quad Cities Museum Week June 13-21! Over at the Figge, take part in a Figge Highlight Tour on Sunday and gain a deeper understanding of the collections in the museum. PechaKucha Night returns on Thursday at the Figge for a fun, informal evening all for FREE. Dress your pups in red, white, and blue and bring them to the German American Heritage Center on Sunday for their Patriotic Pooch Parade, too.

Spend some time along the Mississippi River this week while rooting for your favorite Minor League baseball team. The Quad Cities River Bandits take on the Lansing Lugnuts tonight and tomorrow. Saturday through Monday, cheer the River Bandits on to more wins against the Great Lakes Loons. Sunday's game will even feature a Postgame Mega Candy Drop!
Noting the $44M in downtown investment this past year, $80M in beginning construction, and $145M+ planned for the future, the front page of the QC Times highlighted the Downtown Davenport Partnership's Annual Meeting last week. We were excited to introduce the new Western Gateway Vision to the community, as well. While on the development topic, congratulations to the Scott County Family Y on their ribbon-cutting and grand opening of the new downtown Early Learning Center!

Start your weekend with FREE outdoor live music tomorrow when River Music Experience kick's off their summer concert Series! Located at the RME/Skybridge Courtyard and sponsored by Sedona Technologies and Mickle Communications, this Friday Live @ 5 will feature music by Soul Storm. The music continues into the night in the Redstone Room with a performance by the Way Down Wanderers with PM Buys. On Sunday, West Music students will host a 'Redstone Rumble' to rock out for the community.

An evening of elegance, fine dining, and fun await you tomorrow at the Figge for their 9th Annual Art at Heart Gala. This year's theme, The Paper Ball, celebrates the American Moderns on Paper Exhibition, so don't forget your paper-themed attire. Following the ball, feast on food and drink while participating in an assortment of art-making activities during The ArtBar.
Want to learn more about the roots of downtown Davenport? Take a Historic Third Street Guided Walking Tour with German American Heritage Center and learn away! Tours will take place Saturdays June 6 through August 15, and all are welcome. While you're in the area Saturday, craft yourself a start from paper at the GAHC's Paper Star Workshop.
The River Bandits return home on Wednesday after a week away. Head to Modern Woodmen Park and cheer them on to a win against the Lansing Lugnuts. On Wednesday, take advantage of the all-you-can-ride amusement special and enjoy the rides during the game. Make sure you get to Thursday's game early, too, because the first few fans get a free hat!

Looking to start your weekend off with some laughs? River Music Experience presents the Randy and Mr. Lahey Show tomorrow featuring a night of comedy and good fun. Prepare yourself for a day of music for all ages on Saturday with the Community Drum Circle, Kidz Days at RME, Reed All About It and the Quinns, and Deja vu Rendezvous with The Fez and The Low Down. Get your art fix, too, by checking out the When Colors Play Art Exhibit in the RME Gallery.
The Davenport RAGBRAI team hosts a Community Rally on Tuesday at the Freight House. Ride on down to ask questions about the ride, sign up for volunteer opportunities, learn tips from the Quad Cities Bicycle Club, and more. Be sure to swing by the Farmers Market, Quad Cities Food Hub, Fresh Deli, and Front Street Brewery Tap Room while you're around!
If you haven't already, stop by the Figge and browse the Yuriko Yamaguchi Exhibition before it closes Sunday afternoon. Full of organic, web-like sculptures made from leaves, seed pods, and more, this unique exhibit is one you won't want to miss. On Thursday, join the Figge for the Opening Reception of i <3 Figge. This exhibit features artwork from area students showcasing what the Figge means to them. Don't forget about the Wine & Art session that evening, too.
With a focus on urban landmarks of the Quad Cities and action shots of local skateboarders, the photos of Creative Arts Academy student Nathan Cunningham are sure to impress while on display at L&D 15 this weekend. Come see how he captured the area's vitality through various photos during the Light Way Exhibit on Saturday. Save some time to shimmy through the unique retail items at L&D 15, too!
Bowling, dancing, and sampling new food and drink...find it all at Blackhawk Bowl and Martini Lounge tomorrow! Prestige Music will be spinning your favorite dance hits as the crew debuts their new martini list and pub menu. So gather up some friends and enjoy an evening of new drink specials, games of bowling for $5, and upbeat live music.

Join the Figge in CELLObrating the Quad City Symphony Orchestra's 100th anniversary throughout the week! 100 locally-painted cellos will be on display in the lobby Tuesday through Friday in honor of the QCSO. Stick around on Thursday to create and decorate costume accessories for this year's annual Art at Heart Gala. Get your tickets today for the June 5 event and start prepping for a unique night of food, drink, and art!
 Great River Brewery and Big River Bindery team up for a night of Prints and Pints at the German American Heritage Center next Thursday. Try your hand at Gutenberg's printing press technique by creating German dog inspired prints in honor of the GAHC's Wolf to Woof Exhibit. Be sure to check it out while you're there.
 Ride the Ferris Wheel, snack on hot dogs and popcorn, and cheer on your favorite minor league baseball team all week long! With home games every day, the Quad Cities River Bandits are ready to take on the Peoria Chiefs and Kane County Cougars. Enjoy fireworks at Friday's game, a bobble head giveaway on Saturday, and tons of other fun promotions at all week at Modern Woodmen Park.
 Four-piece roots rock band, The Bros. Landreth, bring their electric guitars, B3 organ, and harmonized voices to River Music Experience tomorrow night. Join RME again on Thursday as they host their first ever Songwriters' Showcase featuring four fantastic artists. Mark your calendars for the kick-off of this summer's Friday Live at 5 series set for Friday, June 5.
 Speaking of music, if you're looking for some great new albums, Ragged Records is the place for you. With CDs, LPs, 45s, PLUS promo and vintage concert posters, you're bound to find something just for you. Prepare yourself for the coming of The King in Concert this Saturday at the Adler Theatre. 2014 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Champion, Jay Dupuis, helps the audience relive the magic and mystique of Elvis during this spectacular show.  The Army's best talent make their way to the Adler tomorrow night for a FREE Soldier Show full of song and dance.

Right next door, the RiverCenter hosts the Metro Mini Makers Expo Friday and Saturday. This annual exhibition revolves around unique dollhouse miniatures and the like. This year's expo will also feature a Graceful Ladies Chair workshop, Kitchen Canning in a Jar class, and Cherry Wood Pie/Jelly Cupboard workshop.

As a sponsor for Camp Euforia 12, River Music Experience is hosting a showcase featuring your favorite local bands tomorrow evening. One band will win a chance to play at Camp Euforia 2015, so come on out to support and vote for your favorite! On Sunday, Third Sunday Jazz presents the Edgar Crockett Quintet as they cover songs from legendary jazz artists in the Redstone Room. Peruse artwork of elementary students at the Figge Art Museum from now until May 24. This weekend, the work of Geneseo students will be on display in the rotating Young Artists at the Figge exhibition. This Week in Downtown Davenport: Mother's Day Edition 5/8 - 5/14

The Figge Plaza is alive with musical entertainment, food and drink, and TONS of fine arts and crafts this Mother's Day weekend for the spring Beaux Arts Fair. Whether shopping for yourself or friends and family, you'll find something truly unique at this premier art festival. A ribbon cutting for the hanging of the flower baskets will also take place on Saturday to help ring in Summer!

River Roots Live veterans, The Ballroom Thieves, return to the Quad Cities this weekend for a CD release show at River Music Experience. With an opening performance by Busted Chandeliers (and CD release of their own), this show is sure to make your Saturday something special! On Wednesday, the QC Rock Academy and RME host a music clinic with Garrett Goodwin, drummer for country star Carrie Underwood. There's still time to sign up your kids for Rock Camp USA, too!

 The Quad Cities River Bandits have tons of home games for you this week. Support your local baseball team as they take on the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers tonight through Saturday. Can't make it this week? No worries! Cheer them on to a win next week when they face the Beloit Snappers Monday through Thursday.

This Week in Downtown Davenport: 4/24 - 4/30

Jersey Boys finishes up this weekend at the Adler Theatre. If you haven't already, be sure to see for yourself why folks consider this to be the best new musical! On Thursday, best selling comedienne of all time, Chonda Pierce, takes the stage to share her stories of faith and personal experiences through humor and good fun.

The final Friday of April has arrived, and Bucktown Center for the Arts is ready to celebrate! Opening reception for the "Heart to Art" exhibit takes place Friday with events including blood pressure checks, chair massages, live music, and the Independent Film Cafe Premiere of "Buried Hearts." Start your Saturday morning with Yoga, and learn about essential oils, heart healthy diets, and women and heart disease throughout the day over at Bucktown.

It may be the final Friday of April, but it's also the first Fireworks Friday of baseball season! Head to Modern Woodmen Park and cheer the Quad Cities River Bandits on to a win this weekend as they face the Burlington Bees.
