The Swedish rock band Ghost will be performing at the TaxSlayer Center on October 8. Coming off a European stadium tour with Metallica, the group has headlined summer festivals and has embarked on a massive North America tour that includes New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Boston … and Moline.

With his 2019 album Eraserland praised by Pitchfork as a work in which “lyrical constellations shine in plain, profound confessions,” folk-rock singer/songwriter Timothy Showalter brings his music project Strand of Oaks to Maquoketa's Codfish Hollow Barn on September 18, performing from a seven-album repertoire whose most recent addition inspired American Songwriter to call it “a sometimes harrowing but ultimately hard-earned triumph.”

With the band's sound described by Spinner.com as “a trademark style of music that somehow combines surf, pop, rock, and beat,” the psychedelic rockers of The Growlers make their debut appearance at East Moline venue The Rust Belt on September 5, treating fans to what Consequence of Sound called “ghoulish surf rock, life-affirming melodies, and a conversational delivery that turns every Growlers show into a tripped-out sermon on mushrooms and real talk.”

Performing in support of their 19th album and 38th year as international touring sensations, the alternative rockers of Osaka, Japan's Shonen Knife play the Rock Island Brewing Company on September 5, with the female musicians' 2019 release Sweet Candy Power, according to Spill magazine, a work that “proves they stand the test of time with their catchy, cheerful bops.”

Kansas City alternative/emo stalwarts The Get Up Kids land at Maquoketa's Codfish Hollow Barn on September 12.

Two singer/songwriters familiar to Quad Cities audiences – one originally from Bettendorf, the other an 11-year resident of Muscatine – will enjoy individual headliner concerts at Davenport's Redstone Room, with pop-rock musician Tim Stop playing the venue on August 28, and folk-rock troubador Andrew Landers performing locally on August 30.

Appearing as the opening-night headliner in Moeller Nights' inaugural Iron + Grain Maker Festival, Grammy-winning, chart-topping soul and R&B musician CeeLo Green takes the stage at East Moline venue The Rust Belt on August 30, performing from a repertoire composed of four studio albums, one compilation album, 39 singles, and 25 music videos.

Described by PopMatters as “a talent to keep an eye on,” as well as “a winning songwriter who manages to mix humor with traditional country sentiment without falling into hokey pastiche,” Nashville's Alex Williams makes his debut appearance at the Rock Island Brewing Company on August 30, his 2017 album debut Better Than Myself leading RoughStock to call the singer/songwriter “an artist who is right up there with Jamey Johnson, Jason Isbell, and Chris Stapleton.”
