Revered for contemporary-folk hits including "Words," "The Stable Song," "Big Black Car," "If I Go, I'm Goin," and "San Luis," the South African-born singer/songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov headlines an August 14 concert at Maquoketa's Codfish Hollow Barn, the artist's most recent recording Evening Machines lauded by Paste magazine as "an album of small intentions with a grand sweep, intimate and boundless at the same time."

A gifted quartet that, according to Vanyaland, “laces modern folk and Americana with an electronic jolt, waltzing along the grooved edges of dream-pop, synth-pop, and Brooklyn's mid-aughts guitar-rock revival,” the musicians of Kuinka headline an August 17 concert at Davenport's Raccoon Motel, their performance sure to demonstrate why NPR raved about the ensemble's “joyful noise” and “joyous organic sound.”

With the Colorado-based indie rockers praised by Bandwagon magazine as "bright, energetic, and bursting with pop polish," the rising stars of Lady Denim headline an August 12 concert at Davenport's Raccoon Motel, the group's talents having inspired 303 magazine to rave about their "catchy tunes and relatable lyrics," and to state, "If you aren’t listening to their music already, then now’s the time to try their songs on for size."

Arriving in Davenport for a live August 13 performance while Baz Luhrmann's movie smash is still playing in theaters, international tribute artist Shawn Klush commands the Adler Theatre stage with his Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Experience, a thrilling celebration of Presley's music and magic that has spent numerous years captivating audiences around the globe.

Bringing their national tour to Davenport in advance of their mid-September release Expert in a Dying Field, the indie-rock and -pop talents of New Zealand's The Beths headline a Raccoon Motel concert on August 10, their second recording Jump Rope Gazers described by Pop Matters as "a sophomore album that makes even the most senior indie-rock acts feel rudimentary by comparison."

Following successful indoor and outdoor performances at Davenport's River Music Experience Courtyard last summer and fall, the Quad Cities musicians and energetic talents of Heads in Motion return to Bettendorf venue The Tangled Wood on August 13, with the 10-piece ensemble paying tribute to Oscar, Grammy, and Tony Award winner David Byrne and his iconic rock outfit Talking Heads.

An eagerly awaited weekend of live performances returning to the Quad Cities for the 51st time, the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival will, from August 4 through 6, again enjoy residency at the Rhythm City Casino Resort Event Center, with the Davenport venue hosting no fewer than 25 individual sets by nine assemblages of thrilling jazz talents.

Touring in support of his 2021 album Stompin' Solo – a recording in which the artist, according to Bluest Blast magazine, "carries on the acoustic blues tradition while keeping it fresh and appealing" – Shawn Pittman headlines an August 7 Mississippi Valley Blues Society convert at the Moline Viking Club, his guitar playing lauded by The Rocking Magpie as "intoxicating" and his vocals deemed "damn near perfect."
