GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (September 24, 2025) — On a warm, sunny September Monday, Knox College opened its 188th academic year with its annual Opening Convocation on the South Lawn of Old Main. The crowd included staff, faculty, returning students, and more than 340 new students from 32 states and twenty countries.

Business major and Student Senate President Manavi Subba ('26) opened the ceremony, reflecting on her growth at Knox and the importance of learning with others.

MUSCATINE, IOWA (September 24, 2025) — The Muscatine Art Center is excited to welcome back esteemed art scholar and presenter Carol Ehlers on Thursday, September 25, 5:30-6:30PM, for her presentation “Marvin Cone and Grant Wood: Their Life, Artworks, and Friendship.” The lecture is part of a series of events and workshops commemorating the new exhibition at the Muscatine Art Center, “Midwest Icons: Grant Wood, John Steuart Curry, and Thomas Hart Benton,” now on display in the Stanley Gallery.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (September 23, 2025) — The Bettendorf Homecoming Parade will be starting at the Bettendorf Middle School at 6pm on Thursday, October 2.

The parade will begin on 18th St going north and will end at Bettendorf High School. 

Come support BHS clubs, music groups, and athletics, alongside the BMS Student Council.

BCSD elementary schools will be joining, along with the mayor of Bettendorf and the biggest Bulldog.
