WATERLOO, Iowa – It’s November and the school year is well underway. Bright yellow school buses are rumbling down roads driving students to classrooms for a full day of lessons, tests and discovery. Klinger succeeds James Joseph, now with FEMA

SPRINGFIELD (Nov. 13) — Gov. Bruce Rauner today announced that he has appointed Joseph G. Klinger as acting director for the state’s Emergency Management Agency.

Klinger has worked for the state since 1988 and previously served as IEMA’s assistant director from January 2007 to May 2010, interim director from May 2010 to February 2011, and most recently as deputy director since February 2015. 

On Friday, November 10th First Class Community Credit Union sponsored a Veterans Day radiothon to raise funds for the American Legion of Iowa’s Veteran Service and Assistance Programs.
