WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa spoke about the importance of Thanksgiving in a video address to Iowans.

MILAN, IL – November 2017 –Not only will St. Ambrose Catholic Church (312 West First Street) be showcasing its renovations during a Community Open House on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, but its pastor will also be shedding his three-year old beard.

“In October 2014, I promised the congregation I would not shave until we had handicap access,” said Fr. Charles Klamut. “Looks like it turned into a little more than I bargained for.”

The Illinois Department of Employment Security has enhanced its services at its Rock Island American Job Center office and held an Open House at the facility on Monday.

Director Jeff Mays, IDES Deputy Director Trina Taylor and local dignitaries from the Quad Cities area officially opened the doors at the 500 42nd Street Rock Island office.

United Way of the Quad Cities Area will host the event, Rallying Around Mental Health with Linda Henderson-Smith from the National Council for Behavioral Health, on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Jumer’s Casino & Hotel. Doors open at 11:00 a.m.
