Ministries Supported by Easter Family Fund

Churches United of the Quad City Area ministries has received a most generous $5,000 grant from the Easter Family Fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines. Funds will be used to support our hunger, shelter and community outreach ministries that include offering financial assistance to people in need.

The Scott County Conservation Board is announcing that the Scott County Park equestrian trails will be closed to the general public Friday, August 4th through Sunday August 6th due to a special event being held for an off-road bike race.

Rock Island Mayor Mike Thoms and Moline Mayor Stephanie Acri will be speaking at the Rock Island County Republican Central Committee meeting on Thursday, August 10 at 6:00 pm at Republican Headquarters, 500 16th Street, Rock Island. The mayors will speaking about their first 90 days in office and will be available to answer questions.

DAVENPORT, Iowa, July 30, 2017 – Metropolitan Community Church of the QC, located at 2930 W. Locust in Davenport, invites the community to attend a special presentation by SSG Shilo Harris who will speak about his book "Steel Will: My Journey Through Hell to Become the Man I was Meant to Be". Harris will recount his journey toward manhood, beginning with a tumultuous childhood marked by his father's struggles with PTSD.

Eight counties added to declared disaster list

SPRINGFIELD (July 28, 2017) – Gov. Bruce Rauner today announced the state will waive penalties and interest for taxpayers in an additional eight counties who cannot file or pay on time as a result of the July 2017 floods. The waiver applies to affected taxpayers for payments or returns due between July 11, 2017, and Dec. 31, 2017.
