IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY SPRING DEAN'S LIST

AMES, Iowa (June 12, 2017) -  More than 8,700 Iowa State University students have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the spring semester 2017 Dean's List. Students named to the Dean's List must have earned a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work. Lincoln University of Missouri Announces Spring 2017 Dean's List

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (June 12, 2017) - Lincoln University of Missouri is pleased to announce that Jasmine Jamila Young of Moline, Illinois, qualified for the Spring 2017 Dean's List. In order to qualify for the Dean's List a student must acquire at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, with a minimum of 12 credit hours in qualifying course work. - 30 -

USDA Announces Farm to School Grant Awards; Projects Nationwide Chosen

WASHINGTON, June 12, 2017 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture today announced the projects selected to receive the USDA’s annual farm to school grants designed to increase the amount of local foods served in schools. Sixty-five projects were chosen nationwide.

WEST LAKE PARK ROAD CLOSURE for the QC TRIATHLON

The Scott County Conservation Board will be hosting the QC Triathlon on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at West Lake Park. Roads going into and out of the park, to include 110th Ave, will be closed at times to traffic during the race. The race starts at 7:00am and the park is normally clear by noon. Summit Campground (located in Gate #1) is used for parking participants and spectators, along with all other available parking.

Morningside College awards master's degrees to graduates

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (June 12, 2017) - Morningside College presented Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degrees and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degrees to 162 spring graduates during its June 10 graduate commencement ceremony. The Morningside College Graduate Program in Education offers the MAT degree with special education and professional educator tracks. All graduate program in education courses are offered online.

CHRISTIAN CARE SERVES AS EMERGENCY COOLING CENTER

Rock Island, IL – Summer can be a harsh time in the Quad Cities for many in our community. As the temperature and heat indexes rise, many members of our community struggle to stay cool. Christian Care is dedicated to helping those who are less fortunate by opening its doors as an Emergency Cooling Center when temperatures are 90 degrees and above. Those needing assistance are welcome between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. seven days a week.

UW-La Crosse announces spring 2017 Dean's List

LA CROSSE, Wis. (June 9, 2017) - The following students have been named to the Dean's List at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for the spring semester of the 2016-17 academic year, ending May 2017. Qualification for the Dean's List is limited to students who have attained outstanding academic achievement. To be eligible, students must have earned not less than a 3.5 semester grade point average and have carried a minimum of 12 credits.
