Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dave Loebsack released the following statement today after the Mahaska Health Partnership hospital in Oskaloosa announced it had closed its inpatient psychiatric unit. Rural areas in Iowa and across the country are facing a critical shortage of options to help treat those suffering from mental health problems.

SPRINGFIELD – Governor Bruce Rauner today attended the quarterly meeting of the Illinois Terrorism Task Force (ITTF) and thanked the members for their work on behalf of the people of Illinois. He challenged the Task Force to be cognizant of cybersecurity and other risks that are growing across the country.

CLIVE, Iowa – A Davenport woman said she knew right away that she’d won the lottery, but she waited to celebrate until she double-checked her work.

Deborah Lesthaeghe claimed the second of eight top prizes of $50,000 available in the Iowa Lottery’s “7 Is A Blast” scratch game.

The 55-year-old said she bought her winning ticket Thursday at Casey’s, 1691 W. 53rd St. in Davenport and scratched it off later that day.

AMES, IA (03/22/2017)-- Cole Neese, Davenport, was among the 22 named award recipients at the annual Iowa State University Agricultural Business Club Banquet in front of university and industry representatives, friends and family.

Neese was the recipient of the Outstanding Club Member - Freshman. Paired with the award is a $750 Mark Deiter scholarship.
