SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI (January 13, 2026) — Each semester, students at Missouri State University who attain academic excellence are named to the Dean's List.

For undergraduate students, criteria include enrollment in at least twelve credit hours during the fall semester and at least a 3.50 grade-point average (on a 4.00 scale). More than 5,400 students were named to the fall 2025 Dean's List. These local students made the list:

Madam President, Mister Speaker, Lieutenant Governor, First Gentleman, legislative leaders and members, justices and judges, my fellow Iowans:

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (January 12, 2026) — Knox College will host its annual Martin Luther King Jr Convocation — an event honoring the life and legacy of Dr. King — at 11AM, January 19, at Knox College's Harbach Theatre in the Ford Center for the Fine Arts.

This year's Convocation speaker is Melvin L Rogers, the Edna and Richard Salomon Distinguished Professor of Political Science at Brown University.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (January 12, 2026) — The Quad Cities National Organization for Women will hold a Rally for Reproductive Freedom January 18 in Rock Island, marking the 53rd anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion before being overturned in 2022.
