PELLA, IOWA (February 10, 2022) — The Central College community will present "Space Station Central" on Thursday, February 24, in Harry and Bernice Vermeer Banquet Hall of Graham Conference Center on Central's campus. The event is free to attend and open to the public.

DECATUR, ILLINOIS (February 10, 2022) — Millikin University is pleased to announce the names of the outstanding undergraduates who have been named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2021 semester.

Students who attempt twelve graded credits during a fall or spring semester and earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher earn Dean's List honors. Students earning a perfect 4.00 grade-point average on twelve graded credits attempted earn High Dean's List honors.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (February 10, 2022) — More than 150 current University of Iowa students served in leadership positions for the 28th annual student-led Dance Marathon which generated more than $1.3 million for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.

The final tally raised by the students was $1,361,184.28, a total which pushed the amount of support generated by Dance Marathon over the course of its history to more than $33 million.

COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (February 10, 2022) — One of Niabi Zoo’s best-known residents, Savanna, a nineteen-year-old female African Lion, was humanely euthanized due to complications caused by breast cancer and progressive kidney failure. Director Lee Jackson stated, “This is never an easy decision. The Zoo’s keeper staff, veterinary team, and managers, in the end, had to consider her welfare and best quality of life.
