DES MOINES, IOWA (May 29, 2020) — Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) today released information regarding two new unemployment benefit programs available to Iowans. Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC), was created by The CARES Act and provides an additional 13 weeks of federally funded benefits to individuals who have exhausted their 26 weeks of regular state unemployment benefits.

CANTON, MISSOURI (May 29, 2020) — Culver-Stockton College recently recognized 205 students on its dean's list for academic achievement during the spring 2020 semester.

Coral Dillie of Davenport, Iowa, was named to the list.

Students on the dean's list have earned between a 3.5 and 3.99 grade-point average and were enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours with no grade lower than a C.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 29, 2020) — The Scott County Sheriff has announced the first positive case of COVID-19 in the Scott County Jail. Recently an inmate was booked into the jail on new charges. Prior to being brought to jail, the inmate, who was not showing symptoms, was tested for COVID-19 based on a statement that the inmate believed they would test positive.

These programs are designed to offer financial assistance as dental offices begin to reopen and premium credits to members who may have had to delay dental and vision care. WASHINGTON DC (May 29, 2020) — As we celebrate American Wetlands Month, hundreds of bird species will benefit from $160 million in funding for various wetland conservation projects in North America. The funding was approved by the Migratory Bird Conservation Commission, which is chaired by Secretary of the Interior David L Bernhardt.
