AMES, Iowa (January 17, 2020) – A total of 10,066 Iowa State University students have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the fall semester 2019 Dean's List. WEST BRANCH, IOWA (January 17, 2020) — Herbert Hoover National Historic Site is seeking an artist for the national park’s 2020 Artist-in-Residence Program. This year, the park is looking for a graphic artist or designer to create digital content — posters, illustrations, or infographics — that can used in online or print-media. 

DUBUQUE, IOWA (January 16, 2020) — The following area students were named to the Dean's List at Clarke University for the Fall 2019 semester. The list recognizes full-time Clarke students who have earned a 3.65 grade-point average or above, on a 4.0 scale, with a minimum of 12 graded hours.

WASHINGTON DC (January 16, 2020) — Senator Charles "Chuck" Grassley, President pro tempore of the Senate, aided in the selection process of the new Architect of the Capitol, Brett Blanton. As the Architect of the Capitol, Blanton will lead the agency and oversee the maintenance, operation, development, and preservation of the United States Capitol Complex. Blanton was sworn in this morning by Chief Justice John Roberts.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA (January 16, 2020) — 55 Morningside College students graduated with bachelor's degrees and 23 graduated with Master of Arts in Teaching degrees in December 2019.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 16, 2020) — On Thursday, January 16, at 11AM, in the State Capitol Rotunda, Governor Kim Reynolds will sign a proclamation declaring January as “Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention and Awareness Month.” The Governor has been actively involved in this issue for four years and serves as an honorary board-member for the Network Against Trafficking and Slavery.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (January 16, 2020) — “Ice is Nice” says the Figure Skating Club of the Quad Cities (FSCQC). A special public session is set for Saturday, January 18, to recognize US Figure Skating Associations (USFSA)’s National Skating Month at The River’s Edge, 700 W River Drive, in Davenport, Iowa. The “Skate with Us” ice session from 3:15-5:15PM provides a chance for the public to learn more about skating opportunities in the Quad Cities.
