DES MOINES, IOWA (January 29, 2025) — The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) and Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH), a national leader in supportive housing, today announced that seven teams will participate in Iowa’s inaugural Iowa Supportive Housing Institute. The Institute is a six-month training series that will focus on developing strategic and income-targeted affordable housing with support services for those Iowans with the highest needs who are also experiencing homelessness.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 29, 2025) — Governor Kim Reynolds introduced the Unemployment Insurance Reform Bill to the Iowa House and Senate.

Gov Reynolds proposes lowering the maximum tax rate to the lowest allowed by federal law (5.4%), cutting the taxable wage base by half, and simplifying the unemployment insurance system by reducing the number of tax tables.

The Department will begin processing individual income returns at the same time as the IRS on January 27. Iowa tax-payers are required to provide their federal return with their Iowa return. Iowa income tax returns are due on April 30.

The report measures IBC member expectations for sales, capital spending, and employment for the next six months. If the index measures above fifty, sentiment is positive. The survey’s overall economic outlook index is 65.63, an increase of 8.96 points from the previous quarter representing a significant increase in optimism from IBC members.
